Welcome to the second annual Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Benefit Ride.  This is an OPEN RIDE!   All are welcome.  You DO NOT have to be a Veteran to join us.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO VISIT THE SPONSOR PAGE.  WE HAVE HAD SOME INCREDIBLE DONATIONS MADE BY SOME VERY GENEROUS INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES!

The ride will depart CRIPPLE CREEK ROAD HOUSE GRILL WWW.ATCRIPPLECREEK.COM  at  1 PM sharp on the 8th of MAY.  Sign up will start at 1000 AM.  The ride is a police escorted ride.  The ride is approximately 60 miles.  It will end at EASY EDDIES in Huntersville.

Wrist bands will be given out to all PAID riders.  The donation will be only $20 for a single rider or for two up.  That will include the ride, goodies,  guest speaker & entertainment at BOTH locations.

This ride's sole purpose has many Veteran beneficiaries:  The main being The Fisher House in Fayetteville, NC (very similar to a Ronald McDonald's only for military families).

Another of the beneficiaries will be any Combat Wounded Solider who is in dire straits awaiting government assistance.  IE..immediate need of a wheel chair ramp, assistance in paying power bill, water bill, etc.  Short term help to get over the "hump."

Please take the time to click on the websites and the above links for more information.  You will find the pre-planned ride route.  If anyone would like to make a donation without riding or would like to help sponsor that would be most appreciated.  We are a non-profit association. 501 (c) 19.  All donations are 100% tax deductible.  If you own a business or your employer would like to help sponsor please let us know.

IF YOU DO NOTHING ELSE...PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO WATCH THIS VIDEO.  IT IS WELL WORTH THE TWO MINUTES IT TAKES TO WATCH!
We are an Association of Combat Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who ride motorcycles as a hobby. Our mission now is to support and defend those who have defended our country and our freedoms. Our focus is to help veteran care facilities provide a warm meal, clothing, shelter, and guidance, or simply to say "Thank You." and "Welcome Home."

Our membership is comprised of Full Members ( those with verified combat service ) and Supporter Members ( those who have non-combat military service, and have a sincere dedication to helping veterans ). We have members from nearly all 50 states and living abroad. Many members continue to serve in our Armed Forces, with several serving in combat areas now.

We sponsor and/or participate in many motorcycle-related charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various veteran care facilities and veteran charities.

To speed things up on ride day, please click on RIDEWAIVER.doc above to download and print.  If you have it signed and filled out when you get to the start it will speed things up tremendously.  Thanks!
"LOOKING/NEEDS A BACK SEAT"
Hello to all again!  Wow, a year has gone by quickly and we are already working on the 2010 CVMA BENEFIT RIDE!  Our goal is to make it bigger and better.  Last year, with our sponsors support and your participation we were able to raise almost $20,000 in one day!  We had approximately 700 bikes in the ride!  100% of all monies raised went directly to  Veterans.  Either the Fisher House of NC, Project Healing Waters, & SupportourTroops!  Along with other Vets in immediate need.

We have decided to move it up to May this year to prevent conflict with several things going on in the nearby area.  Also, you may note that the 8th of  May is the day before Mother's Day.  We purposely choose that date.  This year the CVMA RIDE will be honoring all Blue Star and Gold Star Moms

For those that may not beware of the Blue Star/Gold Star programs.  Blue Star Moms are the Moms of soldiers currently fighting.  Gold Star Moms are the Moms who have lost a son or daughter during war.

Our goal this year is to honor these women and make all of them Guests of Honor.

"VETS HELPING VETS!"
GUEST SPEAKER

COLONEL  (RET)  J. QUINCY COLLINS
7 1/2 YEARS POW HANOI HILTON

Flying an F-105 "Thud", he was shot down over North Vietnam 2 Sept 1965 suffering severe injuries of the head, leg (broken fibula)and arms on ejection.

Captured and held POW for 7-1/2 years, he endured constant torture at the infamous Hoa Lo Prison, a.k.a. Hanoi Hilton . The longest held POW of any Citadel alumnus and one of the longest held in American history, he was labeled as "incorrigible" by the North Vietnamese and was a "cellmate" of John McCain, the 2008 GOP nominee for President.

While a POW, and at the risk of extreme torture, he courageously wrote a patriotic song on bathroom tissue using blood as ink that was sung by all the POWs in 1972 during a prison uprising.

Col Collins calls the Preamble to the Constitution the most important and influential document besides the Bible.  "These are 52 words that have affected every life in this Nation."

Col Collins is the recipient and deserving of the following medals:

2 Silver Stars
Legion of Merit
2 Bronze Stars
2 Air Medals
2 Purple Hearts
Meritorious Service Medal
Distinguished Service Medal
POW Medal

Col Collins is also the founder of the Carolinas Freedom Foundation.
